Cicadas!! Yes, these amazing little creatures create quit a sound and emerge every seventeen years. I wish I could have experienced the sounds and actually seen them live. Instead I decided to paint them. I kept the background very soft and used great delicate details on the cicadas. Painted on Arches 140 lb. cold press watercolor 100 percent cotton paper using professional brand Daniel Smith watercolor paints. The size is 11 x 10 inches.
