A painting of a Joey Rose. Painted from a photograph that my friend, Janice, provided for this composition. The colors on the rose are light, medium and darker values of peachy, coral and orange tones. The background was painted using darker values to bring out the contrast of the flower forward. I used dark blues, greens and blue purple colors. Gave the background some texture using watercolor blooms technique. The size of this painting is 21x15 inches. Painted on Arches 140 lb. watercolor paper using Daniel Smith watercolors. Will look stunning with your choice of mat and frame.
